Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs all online payments made to GIFT Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar ("GIFT", "we", "our", or "us") through the official website or authorized payment gateways.
1. General Policy
All fees paid to GIFT through online mode are subject to the terms and conditions of this policy. By making an online payment, the payer agrees to abide by the refund and cancellation rules stated below.
2. Nature of Fees & Refund Eligibility
a) Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, unless otherwise required by law or regulatory authority:
Application / Registration fees
Admission processing fees
Examination fees
Convocation fees
Late fees / penalty charges
Any convenience or gateway charges
b) Conditionally Refundable Fees
The following fees may be eligible for refund, subject to approval by the competent authority and applicable institutional rules:
Tuition fees
Hostel fees
Mess fees
Other refundable deposits
Refunds, if applicable, shall strictly follow:
UGC / AICTE / University / Government guidelines
Institutional norms in force at the time of admission or withdrawal
3. Admission Withdrawal & Cancellation
Requests for cancellation of admission must be made in writing to the college office.
Refund eligibility and amount shall depend on:
Date of withdrawal
Commencement of academic session
Seat vacancy replacement status
Applicable regulatory guidelines
4. Duplicate / Failed Transactions
In case of duplicate payment, the excess amount will be refunded after verification.
If the payment is debited but transaction status shows failed, the amount is usually auto-reversed by the bank/payment gateway within 7–10 working days.
If the amount is not credited back within this period, users must contact the college with:
Transaction ID
Payment date
Amount paid
5. Mode of Refund
Approved refunds shall be processed only through the original mode of payment.
No cash refunds will be made.
Processing time for approved refunds is generally 10–15 working days, subject to bank/payment gateway timelines.
6. Cancellation by Institution
GIFT reserves the right to cancel or modify any admission, course, or service due to:
Insufficient enrollment
Administrative reasons
Regulatory directives
In such cases, eligible fees shall be refunded as per applicable rules.
7. Limitation of Liability
GIFT shall not be held responsible for:
Delay in refunds due to banking or payment gateway issues
Technical errors beyond institutional control
Incorrect information provided by the payer
8. Policy Amendments
GIFT reserves the right to amend or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be published on the official website and shall be effective immediately.
